Authorities are investigating a deadly multi-vehicle crash that occurred overnight on the 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles. According to preliminary reports, the collision happened around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, along the northbound lanes near the 6th Street exit. Emergency crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded quickly to the scene after receiving reports of a serious traffic accident. Investigators determined that the crash involved three separate vehicles traveling on the freeway at the time of the incident.
When firefighters arrived, one of the vehicles was already heavily engulfed in flames. Video recorded shortly after the collision showed a vehicle overturned in the roadway while completely consumed by fire. First responders worked to extinguish the blaze and assist those injured in the crash. One individual was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition for emergency treatment. Tragically, another victim was pronounced deceased at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.
Authorities temporarily issued a SigAlert affecting the northbound portion of the freeway while crews worked to clear the scene and conduct an initial investigation. The roadway closure caused significant traffic disruptions in the downtown Los Angeles area. Officials have not yet released the identities of those involved in the crash. The cause of the fiery multi-vehicle collision remains under investigation as authorities continue gathering evidence.
