A fatal crash in Porter Ranch is under investigation after a high-speed collision left one person dead and two others injured over the weekend. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred Sunday, March 8, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m. along Tampa Avenue, just south of Tunney Street. Authorities reported that a 2015 Acura was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the roadway and crashed into a traffic signal before striking nearby private property.
The force of the impact caused significant damage to the vehicle and resulted in serious injuries to those inside. One passenger suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department. Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased individual. A second passenger sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was also severely injured in the crash and required hospitalization. Authorities later identified the driver as 23-year-old Ernesto Ramos, a resident of Northridge. Police indicated that Ramos remains in the hospital while recovering from his injuries. Investigators believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
