A fatal motorcycle collision in Colton is currently under investigation following a crash that occurred late Friday afternoon. Authorities reported that the incident took place on March 6, 2026, at approximately 5:25 p.m. near the intersection of Rancho Avenue and C Street. Officers with the Colton Police Department responded to the scene after receiving reports of a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.
When first responders arrived, they located the motorcyclist suffering from serious injuries as emergency personnel worked to provide life-saving assistance. Paramedics transported the injured rider to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the motorcyclist later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
Officials confirmed that the occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash were not injured. Investigators with the Colton Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) were called to the scene to take over the investigation. The specialized unit is responsible for examining serious and fatal traffic collisions in the area.
At this time, authorities have not released additional information about the individuals involved in the crash. The exact sequence of events leading up to the collision has not yet been determined. Investigators continue to gather evidence and review the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Motorcycle accidents often result in severe or life-threatening injuries due to the limited protection riders have compared to occupants of passenger vehicles. Even a low-speed collision can cause catastrophic harm, including traumatic brain injuries, broken bones, spinal damage, and other serious medical complications. In many cases, these crashes occur because of negligent drivers who fail to see motorcyclists or fail to yield the right of way.
