A tragic multi-vehicle collision on the 215 Freeway in Riverside resulted in the death of an infant and left several others seriously injured. The crash occurred on March 29, 2026, at approximately 7:53 p.m. along the northbound lanes just south of Eucalyptus Avenue. California Highway Patrol officers and Riverside Fire Department crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the incident.
Upon arrival, first responders found two heavily damaged vehicles involved in the collision. A total of six individuals were identified as victims, including two children. Due to the severity of the crash, additional ambulances and supervisory personnel were requested to assist. Emergency crews worked quickly to assess injuries and provide critical medical care.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroner, a three-month-old child was pronounced dead at the scene. Another child was transported to a hospital with major injuries. Four adult patients were also taken for medical treatment, with several reported to be in critical condition. Witnesses at the scene reported that CPR was being performed on the infant prior to the arrival of emergency crews.
Authorities temporarily closed multiple lanes of the northbound 215 Freeway as emergency personnel worked the scene. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances leading up to the crash. The cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
