Hit-and-Run Driver Strikes Two Teens on Dirt Bikes in Long Beach

Two teenagers were injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a Ford Fusion in Long Beach on July 25, 2026. According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of Market Street and Elm Avenue at approximately 6:21 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision. Investigators said the two teens were riding motorized dirt bikes across the intersection when they were struck by a gray Ford Fusion sedan. Instead of stopping to render aid or contact emergency services, the driver fled the scene, leaving both victims seriously injured. Paramedics transported the teenagers to a nearby hospital, where a 16-year-old boy was listed in critical condition and a 17-year-old boy suffered moderate injuries.

Police have identified the suspect vehicle as a gray, four-door Ford Fusion sedan and are asking the public for assistance in locating both the driver and the vehicle. Investigators continue reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence in an effort to identify the person responsible for the hit-and-run. Authorities reminded motorists that California law requires drivers involved in a collision to stop, provide assistance when possible, and remain at the scene. Detectives are urging anyone with information about the suspect vehicle or the driver to come forward. The Long Beach Police Department’s investigation into the hit-and-run crash remains ongoing.
