Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Three Drivers in Long Beach

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by three separate vehicles in a tragic hit-and-run crash near a 710 Freeway off-ramp in Long Beach late on July 13, 2026. Long Beach Police Department officers responded to the area of Ocean Boulevard and Golden Shore at approximately 11:45 p.m. after receiving reports of an injury collision involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found an adult male lying in the roadway. Long Beach Fire Department personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Investigators believe the man was outside a marked crosswalk when he was first struck by a black vehicle traveling eastbound on Ocean Boulevard just west of Golden Shore. The driver of the black vehicle failed to stop and continued driving away from the scene.

Police said the victim was then struck a second time by a white truck and a third time by a red sedan, neither of which remained at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of his family by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner. Detectives are working to identify all three vehicles and determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the involved vehicles to contact the Long Beach Police Department’s Collision Investigation Detail. The fatal hit-and-run remains under investigation as authorities search for the drivers responsible for the pedestrian’s death.
