A pedestrian was killed after being struck by two vehicles in a hit-and-run collision in the Willowbrook area of Los Angeles on August 30, 2026. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal crash occurred shortly before 10 p.m. near the 1300 block of Imperial Highway. Investigators said the pedestrian was attempting to cross Imperial Highway when a light-colored SUV traveling eastbound struck the victim. The SUV driver fled the scene without stopping to identify themselves, render aid, or summon emergency assistance. Police have not released any additional description of the hit-and-run vehicle or its driver. After the initial collision, the pedestrian remained lying in the roadway and was struck a second time by another vehicle traveling westbound on Imperial Highway.
Unlike the first driver, the second motorist immediately pulled over, remained at the scene, and called for emergency assistance. Emergency responders arrived but pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity pending notification of the victim’s family. Detectives with the LAPD’s South Traffic Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding both collisions and attempting to identify the fleeing SUV driver. Police are asking witnesses and anyone with information about the hit-and-run vehicle or driver to contact investigators.
