Two people were hospitalized after a boat crashed into a rock break wall near the entrance to the Long Beach Marina on July 3, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. near the east end of the breakwater by the Queen Mary, prompting a response from the Long Beach Fire Department. Emergency crews arrived to find a 30-foot power vessel that had sustained moderate damage after striking the rock barrier. Seven people were aboard the boat at the time of the collision. Fire officials evaluated all of the occupants at the scene before transporting two people to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Despite the impact, the vessel remained afloat and operational. Rescue boats safely escorted the damaged boat back to a public dock near the 400 block of Shoreline Drive. The U.S. Coast Guard also responded to assist with the incident and support the emergency response efforts. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the boat to collide with the break wall. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. The boating accident remains under investigation as officials work to determine what led to the collision.
