A serious rollover crash on the 5 Freeway in Sun Valley early Saturday morning, July 4, 2026, sent 12 people to local hospitals, including seven children. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just before 1:30 a.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway south of Sheldon Street. Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived to find a large number of injured victims requiring immediate medical attention. Authorities confirmed that all 12 occupants were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
The injured included five adults and seven minors. One victim suffered serious injuries, while the remaining patients were reported to be in fair condition with minor injuries. Video from the scene showed an SUV overturned on its roof as firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement officers worked to assist the victims.
