A Southern California father is recovering after sacrificing himself to save his young daughter from an out-of-control pickup truck in Venice. The incident occurred in June 2026 as 38-year-old Jordan Stannard and his family were standing outside their vehicle. According to Stannard, the driver of a pickup truck suddenly lost control and barreled toward him and his 2-year-old daughter, Sadie. With only seconds to react, he threw his daughter into the safety of the family vehicle before the truck struck him. His quick actions are credited with saving his daughter’s life.
Stannard recalled hearing bystanders screaming and calling for someone to dial 911 in the chaotic moments following the collision.
