A motorcyclist was killed in a tragic collision with a vehicle making a U-turn in the Florence neighborhood of Los Angeles early Saturday morning, July 4, 2026. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a physical rescue call at approximately 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of Broadway and 59th Street. Emergency responders arrived to find the motorcyclist suffering from critical injuries following the crash. Despite lifesaving efforts, the rider was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigators say the driver was traveling southbound on Broadway and attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection. As the maneuver was being completed, the vehicle collided with the oncoming motorcycle. The impact caused catastrophic injuries to the motorcyclist. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim pending notification of family members.
