A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Studio City on September 22, 2026. Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Carpenter Avenue at approximately 7 a.m. following reports of a serious collision. Investigators said the suspect was driving a blue 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan westbound on Ventura Boulevard before attempting to turn left onto Carpenter Avenue. While making the turn, the minivan driver struck a motorcyclist at the intersection. Police said the driver failed to stop after the collision and continued away from the scene. The suspect later abandoned the Honda Odyssey on the roadway and fled.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital with severe injuries. Despite emergency medical treatment, the victim later died from his injuries. Authorities identified the victim only as a man in his 30s and are withholding his name pending notification of his family. Police are searching for the driver and investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision and subsequent abandonment of the minivan. The LAPD reminded motorists that drivers involved in collisions are required to stop, contact emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
At the Medler Law Firm, we are dedicated to helping victims of motorcycle accidents and their families recover the compensation they deserve after collisions caused by negligent or reckless drivers. We immediately investigate motorcycle accidents by obtaining police reports, securing surveillance and traffic-camera footage, interviewing witnesses, preserving physical evidence, and working with accident reconstruction experts when necessary. In hit-and-run motorcycle accidents, we act quickly to locate evidence that may identify the fleeing driver, including security footage, witness statements, vehicle debris, license plate information, and abandoned vehicles. Even when the hit-and-run driver cannot be identified, an injured motorcyclist may still be able to pursue compensation through the motorcyclist’s own uninsured motorist coverage, depending on the policy and circumstances of the collision.
We investigate all available insurance policies and pursue uninsured motorist claims when applicable so that victims are not left without a potential source of recovery simply because a negligent driver fled the scene. We fight to recover compensation for medical expenses, lost income, future medical care, loss of earning capacity, pain and suffering, and other damages resulting from serious motorcycle accidents. When a motorcycle accident results in death, we help surviving family members pursue wrongful death compensation, including through applicable uninsured motorist coverage when the responsible hit-and-run driver remains unidentified or uninsured. At the Medler Law Firm, we stand beside victims of motorcycle accidents and their families while aggressively pursuing every available source of compensation.
