Multiple pedestrians were struck by an SUV in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood on the afternoon of August 28, 2026. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, emergency crews were dispatched to the 100 block of South Bimini Place, just east of Vermont Avenue, at approximately 3:55 p.m. The initial emergency call reported that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian in the area. When firefighters and paramedics arrived, however, they discovered that multiple pedestrians had been struck by the SUV. At least two patients were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have not yet released information regarding the identities of the victims or the extent of their injuries.
Aerial footage from the scene showed the SUV after it had crashed into a fence in front of a building. Numerous emergency vehicles surrounded the area as first responders treated the injured and investigators examined the collision scene. Police have not yet determined what caused the driver to strike the pedestrians before crashing into the fence. Officials have not announced whether speed, impairment, distraction, or another factor may have contributed to the collision. The Los Angeles Police Department continues investigating the circumstances surrounding the Koreatown pedestrian crash.
