One person was killed and five others were injured in a violent two-vehicle crash in Encino on September 12, 2026. Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters and paramedics responded to the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Densmore Avenue at approximately 11:19 a.m. following reports of a serious traffic collision. Emergency personnel initially reported that six patients were being assessed, treated, and transported to local hospitals. Shortly before 2 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that one of the injured victims had died at a nearby hospital. Authorities did not immediately release the identities or conditions of the other five people involved in the crash. Video from the scene showed both vehicles with extensive damage following the collision.
First responders appeared to have removed the roof of one of the vehicles as part of the emergency rescue operation. The force of the crash also knocked a Banc of California sign near an office building off its foundation. Numerous bystanders gathered near the intersection as firefighters, paramedics, and police worked at the scene. Ventura Boulevard was shut down in both directions near Densmore Avenue while authorities investigated the collision and cleared the roadway. Investigators have not yet determined what caused the fatal Encino crash.
