According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fatal crash occurred in the 100 block of 6th Street near the Skid Row neighborhood. Emergency crews responded to the scene at approximately 10:23 p.m. after receiving reports of a person struck by a Metro bus. Despite the rapid response of first responders, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Los Angeles Police Department and officials with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority launched an investigation into the fatal collision.
