A man in his 60s was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Glendale, and police have arrested a 36-year-old Los Angeles man in connection with his death. The collision occurred on September 9, 2026, in the 1400 block of East Colorado Street shortly after 10 p.m. Glendale police officers responding to the scene found the pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police said the driver who struck the pedestrian fled the scene without stopping to identify himself or render assistance. Investigators began searching for the fleeing motorist using witness descriptions and available video footage.
Detectives also used Automatic License Plate Reader technology to identify a suspect vehicle connected to the collision. Investigators subsequently identified the vehicle’s registered owner and conducted additional follow-up at the address associated with the vehicle. On September 10, detectives located 36-year-old Justin Ramirez at his workplace in the 1200 block of East Colorado Street. Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run in connection with the fatal collision. Glendale police said the investigation remains ongoing and that detectives are working with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether additional charges related to the pedestrian’s death are appropriate.
