Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Van Nuys Suspect Driver Remains at Large

A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Van Nuys after being struck by a pickup truck whose driver fled the scene early on July 11, 2026. Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the collision at Sepulveda Boulevard and Wyandotte Street at approximately 12:50 a.m. Investigators said the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. Instead of stopping to help, the driver continued away from the scene without checking on the victim or calling for emergency assistance. Paramedics arrived but pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Police said the victim was believed to be approximately 38 years old, and her identity has not yet been released while authorities notify her family.

The driver responsible for the fatal collision remains at large as investigators continue searching for the vehicle and its owner. LAPD reminded motorists that anyone involved in a collision is legally required to stop, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. The fatal hit-and-run remains under investigation as authorities work to identify the driver responsible for the woman’s death.
