Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver responsible for the death of a 38-year-old bicyclist in South Los Angeles. The fatal collision occurred on April 25, 2026, near the intersection of 36th Street and 5th Avenue in the Jefferson Park neighborhood.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the victim was riding his bicycle around 10:50 p.m. when he was struck by a speeding vehicle. The suspect, believed to be driving a dark-colored Jeep Wrangler, fled the scene without stopping.

Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident, but the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of his family.
