Los Angeles police responded to reports of a dog attack in Highland Park on June 24, 2026, after at least two people were reportedly bitten by a large dog. According to authorities, officers were dispatched at approximately 1:02 p.m. to the 5100 block of Buchanan Street following calls of an aggressive animal attack. The dog was described as a large white dog, possibly a husky.
When officers and emergency crews arrived, they found multiple victims suffering from bite injuries. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that at least one person was transported to a local hospital, though the extent of their injuries remains unknown. The circumstances surrounding the attack have not yet been fully disclosed.
Officials also responded to a separate animal bite incident in the 1000 block of South Avenue 52. LAFD notified both LAPD and animal services about the second location as they worked to assess the situation. At this time, authorities have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected.
