Two pedestrians were struck in an early morning collision in the Northridge area of the San Fernando Valley on August 30, 2026. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers received a call regarding the collision at approximately 3:35 a.m. The victims were located in the 8300 block of Vanalden Avenue after the crash was reported to have occurred several blocks away. Police said the pedestrians were apparently struck near the intersection of Winnetka Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the area and provided emergency medical treatment to both victims. Video from the scene showed one person being placed into an ambulance while paramedics treated another victim on the ground.
Authorities initially did not release information regarding the conditions of either pedestrian. A Los Angeles Fire Department official later confirmed that at least one of the victims suffered injuries that were considered non-life-threatening. The LAPD subsequently announced that one person had been taken into custody in connection with the collision. Police have not released the identity of the person arrested or disclosed what charges that individual may face.
